Information Collection and Use
Your personal and business information belongs to you.
We will allow you to update and delete this information subject to certain residual information having to be retained in order to maintain the integrity of the database and the functionality of the Web Site and the Service.
We store the details of who has downloaded your personal and business information (providing they have elected to be updated should your details change) and provide you with the ability to update these people with your new contact details. We will provide the number of people that have been updated with your new contact details should you change them, but we will not provide you with the people’s contact information.
We will not use or disclose your personal and business information other than as disclosed in this privacy statement or as contained in the Service Agreement or as is expected in terms of the Service.
We will not sell, share, or rent your personal and business information without your permission.
We will not send you any unsolicited emails or marketing messages unconnected with the provision of the Service, unless you have specifically opted in to receive these.
We may place third party advertisements on the Web Site.
We may place discreet, third party advertisements in emails that we send to you as part of providing the Service.
When we collect personal information about you we will collect this information from you lawfully and fairly and not in any unreasonable or intrusive way.
We collect information about your use of this site.
We collect information from any form of correspondence, such as emails and telephone conversations, from you or from any third party about you.
If you choose to receive our e-bulletin you will find it is optimized for each subscriber's profile, so you will only receive information that is relevant to you. It will include the latest mydetails.biz services designed to assist you and your company's performance and promotional information. You may, of course, choose not to receive these communications at any time.
On rare occasions it may be necessary to send a service-related announcement, which is not promotional in nature. For example, if your subscription is affected by maintenance issues we may send you such a notification.
A Cookie is a small data file that your browser writes to your own computer’s hard drive in order to remember certain information and is linked to some personally identifiable information while on our site. If you reject cookies, you may not be able to use all the features offered by the site.
We collect statistical information about you from page hits. Every page, image or programme requested by your browser from our servers is logged in a log file, which also collects the following information: your remote IP address, the referring HTML page and the type of browser and computer that you are using. We use IP addresses to analyse trends, administer our site, track users’ movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. The statistical information we gather is used internally for marketing analysis. This information and the IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
We may share aggregated demographic information with our business partners and advertisers. When we do, you will not be personally identifiable, and your personal information will only be used as part of an aggregated compilation of information.
We will release information about you when required by law to do so. Otherwise, we may release information about you, at our sole discretion, when we believe, that such release of information is reasonably necessary or appropriate to:
(a) enforce or apply the terms and conditions of our Agreement; or
(b) to protect the rights, property or safety of ourselves, our users or others.
This web site may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this site.
From time-to-time we may request information from you via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose any information to us. Information requested may include contact information (such as e-mail addresses) and demographic information.
Survey information will be used for the purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
If we make chat rooms and message boards available to our users, please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information. You should therefore exercise caution when deciding to disclose personal information.
We take every precaution to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of all information under our control. When you submit sensitive information via our site, your information is protected both online and off-line.
If we ask you to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected using Secure Socket Layers. While on a secure page, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just ‘surfing’.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All data including your personal and business information is stored on data storage devices linked to our database server. These data storage devices have built in redundancy and all data is backed up to tape on a daily basis. In addition, all data is mirrored to a back up server with its own data storage devices.
Correction/Updating Personal Information
If your personal and business information changes or if you no longer desire to use the Service, you may correct, update or remove your personal data, subject to certain residual data being retained in order to maintain the integrity of the database and the functionality of the Web Site and the Service.
We subscribe to the principles of permission marketing. We may communicate with you once or twice in order to invite you to opt in to receive further communications from us relating to a specific subject or campaign. We will always offer you the opportunity to opt out from receiving further communications in the specific campaign or to opt out from the campaign even after you have opted in. Opting out of one campaign does not necessarily eliminate you from other campaigns that we conduct and that you have opted in for.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy statement, we will post these changes on our site so you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
If we change the way we use your Personally Identifiable Information we will notify you by email.
If you have any questions about this privacy statement, the practices of this site, or your dealings with us, you can contact us on email@example.com.
